Running (Repeat intervals) 1:10:00 [4] 9.9 mi (7:04 / mi)
Interval workout at the Holyoke Res. Met w/ Laura and Kim at Abby's house, and ran directly to the starting point (~1 mile easy, 8 min). Then, 6 x 1 mile - goal of 6:15s. I had mapped out a route at the Holyoke Res. but wasn't sure about the starting line, so I went a bit overboard (knowing farther was a bit better) - we accidently did 1.03 mi each interval, so the mile was about 11-12 seconds faster than my finish time. Anyway, first interval was super dark and we didn't know the footing, so we missed the pace and did 6:45 (6:33/1mi). The rest of the intervals were better - 6:25 (6:14/1mi), 6:17 (6:06/1mi), 6:32 (6:21/1mi), 6:25 (6:14/1mi) and 6:32 (6:21/1mi). Even with the first interval way off the pace, we still averaged 6:18s for the mile (6:29 for the 1.03 mi). It felt rough, but I typically do my intervals towards the end of the day, not at 5:45am. Recovery between each interval was ~3 min, 0.35 mi. Cooldown back to Abby's house - 1.5 mile (12 min). Glad to be done the whole workout before 7am!
