Running tempo (Road race) 1:50:00 [3] 16.0 mi (6:52 / mi)

Westfield Half Marathon - did about 2 mile warmup (~16 minutes easy running), then did the race (~1:29). Felt good throughout the race - was running hard, but comfortably so...as instructed, could have done several more miles at that pace. Cooled down about a mile easy, just to shake things out.

Running (Easy run) 2:05:00 [1] 14.0 mi (8:56 / mi)

Easy run on the trails behind the house w/ Brian and Brad. Felt a bit sluggish - but maybe it's because these guys are so fast. Either way, I let them run their own pace and followed along at my easy pace...no need to push it. The left ankle was still a bit touchy with the rocky trails, but oh well. We ran to the Pike and back, and then towards Mt. Tom to the ridge before turning back.

Running (Running study) 30:00 [1] 4.25 mi (7:04 / mi)

Participated in a running study - and didn't know that it would involve so much running, but it was easy. I ran 5 minutes each of 6.7, 7.8, and 8.6 mph on the treadmill, both toe running then heal striking. Had 5 minutes recovery between each, so it felt ok, but I"m sure running a weird style (or on the dreadmill!) will make me sore in a few places. Oh well, in the name of science. I didn't cross train today since I felt this running was enough for my 'easy/recovery' day.

Running (easy run) 1:18:00 [1] 10.2 mi (7:39 / mi)

Easy run w/ Annie - Honey Pot route from her house. Felt ok, right leg is a bit crampy/tight - perhaps somewhat due to the running study yesterday.

Running (Easy run) 1:02:00 [1] 7.75 mi (8:00 / mi)

Easy run in Holyoke w/ Abby, Kim and Laura. They were doing the 'Great Lakes Hill Workout' - so I warmed up with them, and did the hills easy to cheer them on during their hard efforts. But, I was pleased that the quad feels completely fine even with going up and down the 'great lake hills'. These girls are so fierce on the hills...I was glad to sit the workout out and get to cheer them on! :)

Running (easy run) 1:35:00 [1] 10.0 mi (9:30 / mi)

Easy run w/ Brad at the Notch - did his 'loop' around Earl's Trails, then crossed the road and did the yellow loop to add a bit of distance. Mostly rolling, smoother trails, with a bit of snow still (damn!), but felt ok. My legs feel a bit sluggish from the weekend and everything, but I have a few easy days ahead of me still this week.

Running (Easy run) 1:01:00 [1] 8.1 mi (7:32 / mi)

Easy run w/ Annie - did flat/easy loop from my house. Legs are feeling much better, and quad didn't bother me at all (but it was a flat loop!). Glad to start feeling recovered from last weekend's efforts.

Running (Easy run) 1:00:00 [1] 6.5 mi (9:14 / mi)

Easy run behind the house w/ Brian - ran to Tower #1 and back. Felt good, took it easy on the downhills, but once the legs warmed up they felt better than walking around (and better than walking stairs!). Did tons of stretching and a bit of yoga afterwards.
