Note

Did plenty of walking around, but nothing you would consider actual training. Legs are pretty stiff, and feet are swollen to twice their normal size - had to lay down for several hours with the feet elevated in hopes that the size would go down! But, this has happened after every 100-mile race I"ve ever done.

So...I still haven't had the 'perfect 100-mile' race, but I guess I had a decent day out there. My body didn't cooperate, but with the spirited support from my amazing crew, I focused on aid station to aid station, and kept chipping away at the distance. In the end, I am thrilled to be able to salvage a sub-20 hour finish and podium out of the effort. I had to really work hard for this one.

Easy run w/ Abby at the Reservoir. We're both anxious about this weekend's races, so it was great to shake out with someone equally excited! (She's going to rock her race, I can only hope to do as well as she does!) But, this is likely my last run before VT100...and legs felt great today.

Day off - rest day. But, between the heat/humidity...and stress at work, it didn't feel very restful. Oh well, hopefully my body is recovering!

Easy run w/ Abby around the Whiting Reservoir. It was 100% humidity outside, so it was quite the sticky run...but great for us both to shake it out before our big races this weekend. Legs feel ok!

Walking 1:15:00 [1] 3.0 mi (25:00 / mi)

Did a walk/hike w/ Steph around the Amherst College trails a bit. Just wanted to 'enjoy' the afternoon humidity...but also great to catch up with Steph and fill her in on VT100 logistics.
