Walking (Hike/Run) 6:00:00 [1] 23.0 mi (15:39 / mi)

Knocked off a few more of my 4,000 footers in NH with Meghan, Frank, and Jess. We did the whole hike up/run down. With my heart not really in to Pisgah (especially with a $60 entry fee!), I was glad for the option of a fun adventure instead. I think I now I have just 2 more peaks to finish my NH 4,000 footers! It was a wonderful day to be outside and enjoy the views.

Ran long road run with Nancy and Liz through Belchertown. Felt good, hammies a bit sore/tight, but oh well. Glad to get in a long run...and happy to go at Liz's pace rather than pushing it. She's gearing up for her first marathon and is going to kill it!

Easy morning run with Kate and Laura - ran around Amherst, mostly on the Jones course. Was great to finally get Kate to do a trianing run with us! :) Legs were stiff from lifting yesterday, so the relaxed pace was a-ok.

Trail run w/ Sarah, Jess and Meghan. It should have been an easy run, but Sarah got me talking about the team and USATF stuff, and we kept accidently dropping Jess and Meghan. Oh well...great to lift the tempo a bit. :)

Running (Tempo) 1:00:00 [3] 8.6 mi (6:59 / mi)

Tempo workout with Abby - warmed up about 1.25 mile, then did 3 x 2 miles at tempo (goal of 6:50, but we did 6:30s, 6:35s, 6:40s for our 3 sets) - the 6:40 felt like a good tempo, we just couldn't 'slow down' enough to do the 6:50 pace that was prescribed. Oh well. 2 minutes recovery between each set. Cooled down to Abby's house, about 1 mile.

Weights (Gym) 1:00:00 [3]

Lifted at the gym with Steph - we just worked our way through all the major muscle groups, doing 3 x 10. Did fairly lights weight to break in this 'program', but hopefully we'll be increasing the weights pretty soon. Great to have a gym buddy!

This morning was the 'perfect storm' for running...of the 4 folks who sometimes join me for Wednesday morning runs, I got a 'yes', 'maybe', 'I'll join 1/2 hour later', and no response (so a maybe). The 'yes' sent me a text at 4am to say that he was out...and both the maybes didn't show up. I ran easy for 25 minutes and doubled back to find the late joiner...she didn't show, so I ran another 25 minutes and called it a day. After two mild tempo runs yesterday, and crappy sleep last night, I was quite ok with a short and easy run.

Circuits (Deck of Cards) 45:00 [3]

Did a full deck of cards - unweighted exercises, but did knee pushups, dips, squats, walking lunges, and abs. (And wall sits). Felt some fatigue in the legs, but nothing like the first time I lifted last year.

Easy trail run w/ Frank R. on Hendrick St trails - it was dark for most of the run so we were likely slower, but we did the last few miles on the road to add some distance...so I hope that made up for it.

Running (Trail run) 1:20:00 [1] 8.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Trail run w/ Aaron S. - as always, great run around Sugarloaf, but a 'mild tempo' for me to keep up with him. Running with Frank this morning was similar, so I was pretty beat by the end of this run.

Early morning run w/ Abby and Laura - happy to get in 12 miles before work. It was dark in a few sections (so we had to slow to see our feet and the cracks in the sidewalk), but oh well. Glad we got this all in before 7am!

Walking (Hiking) 2:00:00 [1] 6.5 mi (18:28 / mi)

HIking with Steph at the Quabbin Reservoir. She's trying to get me faster at hiking, so we did a good long continuous hike with some steady climbs.

Circuits (Strength) 10:00 [3]

Did 5 x 10 knee pushups, and 6 x 20 crunches.
