Running (Road run) 2:30:00 [1] 17.0 mi (8:49 / mi)

Road run with the girls. First, we did the (race formerly known as) Jones course, over some sloppy and snowy roads. Then, Ashley and I tacked on some extra to make the run 17 miles total. Felt much better today than I have most of the week...

Warmed up for a few miles, then did the Northfield Mountain snowshoe race (which was advertised as 5 miles, but was really 4). The course went up Northfield - and was sloppy, loose, challenging conditions. Frankly, I struggled...my legs were tired and I just couldn't seem to move fast. But, it was fun, especially with several of my teammates joining in the fun! Cooled down quickly, but wanted to have lunch with Dan and Darleen!!!

Did Colleen's high intensity interval training class. Was great - didn't immediately feel it, but my heart rate got high and I was sweating.

Ran on the snow covered Mt. Tom trails with Apryl. I couldn't talk her into snowshoeing, so it was a sloppy (and annoying) run...but that's life I guess. Legs are pretty fatigued after this week.

Hill workout with Abby, Ashley, Laura, and Molly. Warmed up 1 mile. Workout was 3 x 3 x uphill (0.25 miles each). First hill (82' climb) - 2:12, 2:11, 2:09. Second hill (72' climb) - 2:09, 2:11, 2:07. Third hill (42' climb) - 1:44, 1:44, 1:44. Cooled down 1.2 miles. Legs felt so flat today - they were burning as soon as started to go uphill. Ugghh!

Snowshoe run on the Ridge with Molly, Erik and Colleen. My legs are so tired and sore from lifting yesterday...so it was a slog, especially with the first section (to the power lines) not really packed out. But, nice to run before work.

Snowshoe around UMass trails with Ruthie. Some of the trails were in good shape and packed down...a few weren't broken in at all. Legs were burning in those sections! But, great to get out with Ruthie!!!

Indoor track workout with Erik, Molly and Caroline. Warmed up 12 minutes. Then, did ladder workout with a goal to run around 6-minute pace for all intervals:
400 - 1:32 (oh boy, maybe I'm locking in to 6:10 pace...)
800 - 2:59 (ok...maybe I can do this)
1600 - 6:01 (alright...but that was really hard!)
400 - 1:30 (man, that was hard for a short interval)
1600 - 5:59 (wow, did that just happen? how am I going to do the last intervals?!?)
800 - 2:57 (woohoo!)
400 - 1:25 (I almost want to do more, but will quit while I'm ahead)
Recovery was 400 between each. Cooled down 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised - this workout was intimidating, and seemed impossible...but I was excited to concentrate on one interval at a time and pull it off!!!

Lifting at the gym - I must have concentrated on the quads and legs more than normal...they were sore even before I left the gym. Yikes! Stairs might be a challenge tomorrow.

With the snow we got, I didn't get out...so I spun to at least get the heart rate up today...
