Ran first 'hill day' of the year, by running up B17 with Abby and Molly. It was pretty well iced over for the bottom half, so it was slow going both heading up and heading down. But, it was good to be out there and start the process this year!

After the hill run, I met up with Sara to do her 'long run' of the week around Sunderland. It went well, felt super easy! Glad to have my second long day in a row...and 3rd long day this week. Training feel solid!

Ran around Whatley, South Deerfield, and Sunderland with Annie. She wanted to push the pace just a bit...so I did my best to hold her back and run steady, but the pace was still a bit faster than typical. However, it was great to run with her again...and to get in a long run today.

Today was a total quad buster - did a series of squats and jumps. Glad I went!

Ran roads around Northampton - sections of the bike path were icy...but nice to run around the loop we use to do with the girls. Felt pretty good.

In preparing for Zion, I decided to do hot yoga for the next few weeks. I actually didn't hate it - it was so much more tolerable than Bikram! Anyway, felt great to stretch and sweat!

Indoor track workout - 10 x 400s with Molly, Erik and Colleen. Warmed up 12 minutes, then started the workout. Goal pace was 10k pace (1:40), with 1:30 recovery between:
1:40 (143/162), 1:39 (156/166), 1:39 (159/168), 1:38 (160/169), 1:37 (162/171), 1:37 (162/171), 1:37 (164/173), 1:36 (164/174), [Erik intervals] 1:27 (169/179), 1:26 (168/180)
Cooled down for 10 minutes. Felt ok...was a relaxed workout!

Ran with Laura around South Amherst...was beautiful outside! She needed to do some pickups, so we did 10 x 45 sec on/45 sec off. Felt good to stretch out the stride a bit.

Lifted at the gym. I was a bit tired, so I think it took a bit longer to do the workout.
