After my bout of radiation at 7:20am at Rush, chatted with my radonc and took the two buses home. Where my guy Ralph was getting ready to install screens and more a/c's.
We still have those wooden storm/screen doors from the 1920's where the wooden storm panel with six glass panes has to be removed, and a wooden screen panel inserted. Most guys would have junked that 35 years ago in favor of zero-maintenance aluminum screen doors. And saved the day of labor in the spring and fall, just switching those in and out. But the other 363 days a year, I kinda like that 'old' look, and the authenic sound of a real screen door slamming on a hot summer day...only slightly disturbing the drone of the cicadas in the elms in the back yard.
Afterward Sari and I took the Brown LIne over for a sunny al fresco lunch at
Corridor Brewing on Southport Av. Our first restaurant meal in 3 months!
