NordicTrak 6:00 [3]

Erg rowing 11:50 [4] 2.5 km (4:44 / km)

Second fastest time this week. Feeling a bit better. Hope this is the trend: two steps forward, one back.

Think I'll take the day off from golf today. Have played 18-holes on 5 of the last 6 days! And all at legitimate courses out in the country, where long walks to and from were necessary....Elk Grove Village, Naperville, Woodridge, Highland Park. All points of the compass, except east.

And along with my bi-weekly lessons, I notice a definite improvement in swing accuracy and distance from all this practice. So I'm enjoying the game more too. Which motivates me to play even more. A nice circular reinforcement.

Erg rowing 11:47 [4] 6.5 km (1:49 / km)

A bit faster than yesterday...at 3:30am in the basement. Now to shower and head out for the early train for Naperville. Playing at another new course today...Arrowhead GC.

I get off the country bus at a rural crossroads. And then a nice new bike path paralleling Butterfield Road all the way to the Clubhouse! DuPage County really has its act together.

NordicTrak 6:00 [3]

Erg rowing 11:58 [4] 2.5 km (4:47 / km)

It's been a full week of morning basement workouts. So as PG would say, time to up the effort. Not particularly pleased with how slowly this has been so far. I seem to be feeling sluggish and in pain during the workouts, with no interest in increasing the pace.

So on this 8th morning since my last 5k race for the season, and after setting back the boiler clock to CST while a dozen or more exhausted trick-or-treaters slept upstairs, I expanded the workout 500m...and felt great! Rowed the last 500m in under a 2:10 pace! So I'm already looking forward to the new workouts this week!

NordicTrak 5:00 [3]

Erg rowing 9:33 [3] 2.0 km (4:47 / km)

Except for the first day, this was my slowest time of the week. Need to shake things up tomorrow a bit.
