Recovery row from the 10k yesterday. Then a 60-second piece at a pace of 1:53.2. In such a short piece, my wind wasn't the problem. I just couldn't get down into the 1:40's no matter how hard I tried. By comparison, Charlie did a short piece at a 1:30 pace the other day! So gotta do more of these short bursts.
Sunday morning row. Always try for something special on Sunday. This time I went for a 10k row...longest row of the season. Felt pretty good all the way. But about 3 minutes short of last year amazingly, when I pulled the whole 10k at a pace of 2:10.7 on March 1. Oh well...I have a long time to develop additional speed. Today's 2000m Pacing splits:
Feeling stronger. Final 1000m at a pace of 2:12. Getting up there. Considering several options for my Sunday morning row: speed or distance...but not both!
New Fall PR. Only 19 seconds above my best time last Spring. Now to shower and head out to see if I go as far south on Chicago's transit system, I can get in a round of golf.
6452m in 30 minutes for a overall pace of 2:19.5. Two 1000m at around 2:22; two at around 2:20, and a final 1000m at 2:14.4. First time at this distance this Fall, but my PR for this season, set early last May, is 6728m. Got a long way to go...
