Haven't felt too good the last couple of days. Yesterday every joint hurt, both before and after the workout. Today, not so bad. But still not feeling it. Would like to do something long or fast tomorrow, but we'll see...
Pulled another half second off my 100m PR...and moved ahead of one guy in the world rankings in 70-79. But if I can improve my time another 0.6 seconds, to below 20", I can move up five places! Woo Hoo!
Included in this workout was 4 minutes of speed work...977m @2:02.8 pace. Just didn't have it. Must have been tired from the hour row Sunday still. No reason why I shouldn't do this short sprint at a pace significantly below 2:00. But this morning, by the third minute, I was down to 2:10 with my tongue hanging out.
Another Sunday morning row. Beat my best distance for an hour row from last season by 97m, and moved into the 69th percentile in my age/weight class.! My longest row of the season. Twelve minute pacing splits:
Pretty good, considering the 10k I did last Sunday was done at an average pace of only 2:20. Felt amazingly energetic at the end...as the splits above show. I think Charlie's tip on developing more leg drive has made all the difference.
