NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 30:00 [4] 6.5 km (4:37 / km)

Added 245m to my PR for a 30-minute piece. Felt good. But still 250m behind last season's PR for this time, which I did early in the season, and never able to exceed despite record-setting seasonal distance (684km). So perhaps, like everything else, such speeds will remain only a distant memory.

Played golf down south again yesterday. Coyote Run GC. A beautiful round on a beautiful day, ruined only by two blown clutch shots over water. When looking at an expanse of water between my ball and the green, I have a hard time swinging easily... Duffer!

Note: Time and photos of Saturday's race. I actually beat three people! Pretty embarrassing! But I like photo #10 (of 12!). Glad they thought it was necessary to document that thrilling finish so exhaustively!

Running race 1:34:58 [4] 6.2 mi (15:19 / mi) +10m 15:14 / mi

Wheaton Zoo 10k. Hot, muggy to start, then rain for the last half to cool things off. Which was welcome. No lightheadedness. Once it cooled down and began to rain, I felt a lot stronger. But Adrian Malac's 65 yr old wife beat me just by walking with determination.

Adrian jogged back to give me a few words of encouragement in the final mile. He'd finished in half my time, and thankfully hasn't moved up to my age group yet. Said his wife had been running on 'bone-on-bone' knees that the docs recommended replacing 20 years ago. Never did it. Pretty amazing what a little determination and support can do!

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 22:45 [4] 5.0 km (4:33 / km)

Took 53 seconds off of last week's PR for this distance. Felt good. No sign of lightheadedness, even with sustained anaerobic effort. That's good news. 1000m pacing splits (in time/500m) show room for improvement in mid-section of piece:

2:16.0
2:18.8
2:19.4
2:16.7
2:11.7......overall: 2:16.5
