NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 24:32 [3] 5.0 km (4:54 / km)

Spent several hours yesterday climbing up into my trees on a 40' ladder, sawing off dead and conflicting branches with my electric saws-all. Mostly maples, which I'm trying to shape like elms! Which means cutting off lower horizontal limbs, and retaining limbs that have that upward thrust, which overall shapes the tree like a vase. And allows more sun to reach the gardens below. As well as providing more light, air and view to my tenants during the summers.

It is a nice job when done. And my guy does all the clean up, cutting the big limbs into fireplace logs for next season. But he's afraid of heights. So I do all the ladder work, which is fun for me: my brother Allen and I used to build tree-forts and climb around in eucalyptus and oak trees like monkeys when we were growing up in California. Nevertheless at 75, it is a lot of unusual exercise!

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 23:56 [3] 5.0 km (4:47 / km)

Third row in the first 10 days of November; seven days of golk! :-) The weather has been dry, sunny, and warm enough to play in a short-sleeve polo shirt each day. Lots of good shots and memorable rounds. All while major events were occurring, including our Chicago Cubs winning the World Series!

And our democratic system deliveried another lesson to the 'talking heads' of our colleges, media, and political worlds: "We get it; there are too many people, and too few resources in the world. Be those resources land, air, water, jobs, oil, etc etc. And we're not going to share so generously anymore!"

For intelligent people everywhere, the time for one of my favorite concepts may well have come! Negative Population Growth!

Erg rowing 23:54 [3] 5.0 km (4:47 / km)

Prepping for colonoscopy yesterday. But the prep didn't kick in, in time for my 8am appointment. So a wasted day generally. Didn't even go to the big Cubs parade down Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue along with the other 5 million fans.
