Running 1:08:25 [4] 4.1 mi (16:41 / mi) +5m 16:37 / mi
shoes: NewBalance NBX Flats

Run for Walk, Evanston, Illinois, honoring Coach Walker of the Northwestern Wildcats football team. Perhaps a distant relative of our orienteering Walkers? He was only 52 when he died...and is still apparently mourned by NU alums and the whole North Shore. His widow Tammy was there to start us off.

Beautiful morning. Took 5:55am L train from nearby Fullerton station, transferred at Howard, and then a half-mile walk down Central Avenue to packet pick-up at Northwestern's Ryan Stadium. Nice race course through the leafy residential streets of Evanston, then the NU campus, along Lake Michigan, and back up Sheridan Road.

3-1/2 minutes longer than last year, despite feeling pretty good. Guess I'll just have to get used to this snail pace, and hope it doesn't get worse. But 4-year history doesn't look promising:
2014....55:32
2015....57:46
2016....64:56
2017....68:25

City biking 23:50 [3] 4.7 mi (5:04 / mi) +5m 5:03 / mi

Over to the Farmer's Market for Michigan peaches and corn. Then up to Fletcher to oversee tenant move and show last 9/1/17 availability. Getting over $2000/mo for one bedroom apartmtents! But worth it! Wish I could figure out how to show you guys what they're getting for those rents after rehab. Up early for race tomorrow in Evanston.

City biking 30:00 [3] 6.0 mi (5:00 / mi) +5m 4:59 / mi

Biking all over the northside, getting a lease signed, depositing resulting checks in special 'escrow' account required by City, having lunch w Sari and her two teen nieces from Tampere: Sanni and Milja, and supervising my guy finishing up another kitchen rehab while the new tenants move in and ooh and aaah over the 42" maple cabinets, quartz counters and herringbone backsplash.

Carry golf 2:00:00 [1] 8.25 km (14:33 / km) +25m 14:20 / km
shoes: Ecco "Street" 2012

Minne Monesse GC, Grant Park, IL. Long drive with Larry, but worth it. A hidden gem on the far southside...almost down to Kankakee! Lots of hills, 90 degrees and humid. Walking and carrying was real exercise. A lot of good long drives across valleys, to fairways in the distance...."feel good" shots!

City running 1:25:00 [3] 4.2 mi (20:14 / mi) +5m 20:10 / mi
shoes: New Balance 426

The most beautiful day of the year. Bright sun, cool breeze, clear air. And getting my quartz counter installed, so tenants can move in and begin paying rent next Tuesday! One kitchen rehab down; two to go.

City biking 35:00 [3] 7.3 mi (4:48 / mi) +5m 4:47 / mi

Biking back and forth to Home Depot, schlepping herringbone backsplash tiles for #1 kitchen rehab. Always fun to try new designs. And I get to try a couple dozen in the next year or so.

City biking 20:00 [3] 4.2 mi (4:46 / mi) +5m 4:45 / mi

Back and forth to the Fletcher building; taking delivery of new stainless steel appliances. And trying to get my worker to understand how to level and install new kitchen cabinets so we can install quartz counters and under-mount sinks. A lost cause. Try again tomorrow.
