Biggest snowfall of the season. 8" to 10" out front when I emerged at 8am...and still snowing! My trusty 24" spring-steel shovel broke under the strain of hoisting all that weight for my 100' frontage. So had to retreat to the basement and find nuts, bolts and lock-washers to pull it back together again.
Nice workout; sweating like a pig by the time I'd finished. Probably have to go back outside to shovel several more times, since there's a whole line-up of storms out west, heading right for Chicago.
Here's a neighborhood cam
showing the back of Wrigley Field, under construction til Opening Day April 9, and the extent of our snowfall. What a mess! Why do people drive in these conditions? The L train station is just to the right of the picture!
