SIngle digits out there this morning....Brrrr! But snow is dry and light, shovels easily. Quite a contrast to yesterday. Supposed to stay cold for the entire week.
The Lake Michigan 'snow machine' is currently dumping on Gary, Indiana. If the wind clocks around a bit more to the west, we could be getting a couple more inches of 'lake effect.' But otherwise skies are clearing.
7am: Still snowing. But thought I'd get ahead of it somewhat and shovel the 4" already on the front 8'x100' sidewalk. 25-min of heavy lifting. Ugh! Heavy and wet. But back handled it well, unlike 6 days ago. :-)
And another 15-min of shoveling around 1pm when the snow finally stopped.

My Danish friend Peter came in for the afternoon. So I picked him up at Union Station, where he'd arrived from his girlfriend's Wisconsin farm. Had a good time discussing old girlfriends, and ski trips to the Rockies, Sierras and the Alps. Two old men laughing, drinking and bonding.
