Sunday Apr 14 #

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 24:45 [3] 5.0 km (4:57 / km)

Got my workout out of the way so I could sit back with a cup of coffee at 8am and watch Tiger win The Masters today! An unbelievable performance! What a 6-hour drama for a golfer. Hope the rest of the golfers on a/p enjoyed it half as much as I.

Saturday Apr 13 #

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 25:19 [3] 5.0 km (5:04 / km)

Friday Apr 12 #

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 25:11 [3] 5.0 km (5:02 / km)

City biking 15:00 [3]

Down to post office to submit federal tax return.

Thursday Apr 11 #

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 26:06 [3] 5.2 km (5:01 / km)

Tried a couple 100m pieces at the end. Not close to a PR. Guess I've got more speed work to do.

Wednesday Apr 10 #

NordicTrak 10:00 [3]

Erg rowing 19:55 [3] 4.0 km (4:59 / km)

Included in this workout was a new PR for a 4-minute piece; added 5m to my previous PR set last fall, for a total of 904m. Not spectacular. But at this point, any PR is a minor victory. And loosened up the old stiff muscles from the depredations of the week so far! One-minute pacing splits show a very uneven effort:

2:09.3
2:16.9
2:16.9
2:08.2........overall: 2:12.7

Tuesday Apr 9 #

City biking 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi) +10m 9:48 / mi

Driving range 57:00 [1]

First trip to the Diversey Range. Thought this would be an easy work-out. But NO! More stiff and sore than ever! Maybe from the walking, golf and 5k run on Sunday? Guess I'll go back to the basement tomorrow, for some familiar exercise rowing and skiing.

Joe Lewis 'The Champ' GC, Riverdale. First 70 degree day in 2019...normal first is two weeks ago. Also Cubs Home Opener. And by the looks of it, Wrigley Field four blocks away, is going to be the 'happening' place in the midwest today! Might stroll up there and have a beer during the seventh inning, when everyone sings.

Great day of golf too. 90 minute commute by L train and suburban bus to this long 6742yd Chicago Forest Preserve GC that I haven't played for three years. It is going to take a few rounds to get my endurance up for a comfortable 18-holes. Terrible score today...but still, a few good shots to remember. Bright sun; no wind; a perfect day for golf...or baseball!
