watching more of Troy, still not done..
Hiking 20:00 [0]
Tried to go to work this AM, not really all that much snow on the ground and had been plowed pretty good, got as far as the center of Tolland but couldn't get up the hill on 195 near the bike shop without spinning out. So after a few attempts turned around and headed home. But now couldn't get up the hill the other way either. Ended up ditching the car in the hardware store parking lot and walking home (still dark out at this point). Not the safest thing to be doing and luckily my sister-in-law drove by in the truck and offered me a ride most of the way back to the house. So now I'm doing some computer work from home and wondering when I should grab a shovel and hike back to town to dig the car out and continue my commute. To be continued I suppose.....
Road Run (car fetching) 35:00 [3]5.5 km (6:22 / km) +120m 5:44 / km
roads wet, but clear - much better than this AM. Ran to town with shovel in hand and lots of misc crap in my jacket pockets so it made for lousy running but I did what needed to be done.

Luckily my car was mostly melted out and no shoveling was required....

Friday Jan 11

Trainer 40:00 [3]13 km (3:05 / km)
shoes: Slipstream
Watched the first 40 minutes of Troy. Maybe more later on..

Wednesday Jan 9

Note
(sick)
stomach bug going through the house. Too bad as it looks really nice out and perhaps the icy crap is gone from the trails now...

Monday Jan 7

Trainer 1:21:00 [3]27 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: Slipstream
Some more of Ray - damn that's a long movie - very good, but I've still got a ways to go...

Sunday Jan 6

Trainer 1:00:00 [3]20 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: Slipstream
Watched the first part of Ray (the Ray Charles movie). Cut it off at an hour to come up and get the kids fed and ready for bed. Jackson sick so I'll probably stay home with him tomorrow - perhaps a good shot at more basement time.

Friday Jan 4

Trainer 45:00 [3]15 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: Slipstream
more basement - didn't overdress tonight...

Thursday Jan 3

Trainer 51:30 [2]17.5 km (2:57 / km)
shoes: Slipstream
Bundled up and headed to the basement with the portable DVD player. Stopped at the library and took out a handful of mindless DVD's to lessen the boredom. Rode until the battery died. Felt good to ride though - its been a while. No AOWN though, the cat didn't even venture downstairs - she's curled up under the pellet stove...
