Hiking (Backpacking) 8:00:00 [1]
shoes: Adidas Response Trail XI
Day 2 of White Mountain Backpack w/ Jackson. Kinsman Ridge Trail over the Cannonballs, up the west face of Cannon (steep, boulder infested trail) then some time wandering around the top of Cannon taking in the sights, then Kinsman Ridge Trail down to Franconia Notch, then a couple miles on the bike path back to our car. Estimated total mileage about 14 for the two days but with lots of climb and fairly rugged trails - especially for an 8 year old with a backpack on. Longest backpack so far for Jackson and the first one where I didn't have to mule his pack on the trickier technical sections.

Hiking (Backpacking) 5:00:00 [1]
shoes: Adidas Response Trail XI
Backpacking with Jackson in the Whites. Lafayette Campground > Lonesome Lake Trail > Fishin Jimmy > Kinsman Pond Shelter. Lots of hiking and exploring after we got to Kinsman Pond so time is a little more than actual backpack time.

Sunday Jun 24

Bike - MTN (Lake & back) 20:00 [3]6.4 km (3:07 / km)
shoes: Trail-a-bike
Lake & back with Jackson. Newly graded which means its crappier than usual. Lots of loose fist sized rocks and patches of loose dirt.
Bike - MTN (Lake & back) 19:00 [3]6.4 km (2:58 / km)
shoes: Trail-a-bike
After a 15 minute breather, did the run again with Hayden. A little faster this time, mostly due to the fact that I can actually feel Hayden pedalling....

Saturday Jun 23

Event: WCOC BBQ and Meeting

Run w/ Jackson (Soapstone) 1:00:00 [1]4.5 km (13:20 / km) +195m 10:58 / km
shoes: Salomon TR2
Run at the forest, not many striders in attendance. Jackson and I did an easy run CCW round the mountain, then connecting over to the moonlight trail, then back toward the mountain doing a couple geocaches on the way. Jackson running at a decent pace at times, but then pokey and walking quite a bit later. Due to the location of one geocache (which we didn't actually find) we came down Killer Hill - its an all-fours climb on the way up and not an easy descent. Nice morning, great to get out even if not a terribly aerobic workout.
Orienteering - Event race (Ratlum Sprint A) 27:31 [5]*** 2.35 km (11:43 / km) +140m 9:01 / km
shoes: Salomon TR2
breezy & 60's - but still managed to sweat a bit in the woods. Lot of laurel, fun run with some less than ideal routes through the laurel, one major error (parallel). Been a long time since I've orienteered (other than course setting at Crandalls).

Orienteering - Event (Ratlum Sprint B) 25:58 [5]*** 2.1 km (12:22 / km) +110m 9:48 / km

more good times in laurel hell.... quite a few battle scars from the laurel and the un-laurel. I've got no problem with a bit of minor bloodletting though. Makes me feel like I've accomplished something...

Exercises (various) 1 [3]
So JJ heads over to Charlies barn to do some of his 'ups' and proceeds to do 11 pull ups on the holds. So I opt to give it a try - barely manage 1 with nothing left to try again. Never said I had any upper body strength - JJ says its because my lower body mass is too high. Does that mean I'm getting porky?
