Run - Track tempo (Team Trial 3K) 12:02 [5] 3.0 km (4:01 / km)
(sick) shoes: Roclite 312gtx

Nice day, legs were feeling a little better this AM, so I decided to try my hand at the 3K, not expecting much in my current condition. After about 15 minutes warming up, set about the UConn outdoor track under bright sun and high 60's - sweating rather profusely.

It was hard right from the start, but I tried to keep the laps under 100s and pushed the last 150m or so pretty hard. Didn't think I'd even be close to 12 minutes, so pleasantly surprised at that. Will have to try again once the current Lyme symptoms dissipate, and perhaps do it a bit earlier under cooler conditions.

Run - Track warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: Roclite 312gtx

partly on track, partly to/from the track from my office. Mostly easy jogging, some walking during the cooldown.

Run - Road warm up/down (SLR) 9:22 [3] 1.8 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Roclite 312gtx

to/from Shafran - 4:18 out, 5:04 back (dragging)

Run - Trail tempo (LoDFP) 19:42 [4] 3.75 km (5:15 / km) +65m 4:50 / km
shoes: Roclite 312gtx

Played hooky and left work early to grab a run in during the nice weather. Legs dead to start as usual, down the road in decent time. Decided if my legs were going to hurt anyway, lets see how fast I can run the loop. Quite happy with the 11:29, a bit sluggish on the way back just kind of cruising while the legs burned.

At least it doesn't appear I've lost any fitness, it just hurts to do even short runs and long runs are out of the question. Guess I'll keep up the short stuff (might as well be fast) and hope the ailments go away soon leaving me in a good place to pick up where Ieft off..

3:49 out
11:29 loop
4:24 back

Added the LoDFP for splits - need to measure the loop itself more carefully (guess on distance right now). Go back through logs for older reference runs.
6 PM

Hiking (Shafran) 40:00 [1] 3.4 km (11:46 / km)
shoes: NB 790 {orange}

Brisk after dinner walk with the boys. Legs achy, but invigorating nonetheless. Getting dark just as we finished up.

Orienteering (Sessions Woods) 1:48:00 [3] 7.6 km (14:13 / km) +210m 12:29 / km

Cold, rainy jaunt in the woods with Dave Almand. Ran red course while discussing terminology, technique and such. Reasonably clean run, but not all that speedy due to my ills.... Very wet with tricky stream crossings.

I think Dave enjoyed himself.
