Fieldwork (Bald Mountain) 1:30:00 [1] 7.0 km (12:51 / km)

Preliminary map perambulations for a likely mapping project.

History:
Aerials - Mar '86
Photogrammetry - Feb '87 Harvey
OCAD conversion - '02?
Lidar - '10
Map for real - Winter '14-15 & beyond?

Always liked the area for trail running. State has consolidated into more contiguous parcel plus a large chunk of adjacent land now held by town & NCLT. Just shy of 7 Sq km usable terrain.

Lots of hunters out today so stuck to major trails - assessing gps vs base map vs Lidar data. OO Mapper running pretty smoothly on Galaxy w/ Wacom stylus. GPS accuracy tending in the 3-5 meter range relative to Lidar data.

Sunny, 30ish. Stiff breeze when in the open. Glenbrook > Gurleyville > Bundy > Ferrel > Hanks Hill > S. Eagleville > Separatist > Hunting Lodge > N. Eagleville > Convenience Store. Walked back after grabbing a soda to go with lunch.

Light rain, 40F. Really wasn't looking forward to this, but actually once I got out I felt fine... Didn't wear glasses or contacts, but since it was all road, wasn't much to look at (or out for) so not an issue.
