Vasquez Rocks. Wow. Gorgeous. 90 minutes of hiking with a coworker (this was a business trip), plus 30 minutes walking up the monolith. I carried a copy of the orienteering map and we did two of the "micro-slot canyons" (gaps in the cliffs).

The news says there is a drought in California. I've only been to VR in the dry season, but this was by far the most green and beautiful it's been there. Perhaps it's normally much more green this time of year?
