Mountainbike 1:20:49 [2] 31 km (2:36 / km) +150m 2:33 / km
.... did not make the cut to the inline skating sessions as the sheriff decided to close the course at 8pm, so we did get slowest time (without a time penalty, since we were not informed before, such a bummer).... and i skipped the last run/trek, william blew up a bit but they did well anyways and finished around 20th....... after a good nights rest (about 4h) we started the morning leg with a gorgeous downhill mouintain bike section, flawless nav from eric but we re just too slow to be competitive... around 35th...

shoes: Asics Trail Gel 1090
sat out the class I/II canoe paddle and then raced as hard as i could (being towed the whole time by william) on a flat easy to navigate run, DAMN that hurt... eric and william were a good bit faster so we finished very well in that section...

last leg, all flagged out mandatory route, suuuuper fun singletrack and gorgeous views... happy that i was done... that preceeded my 8h drive home to seattle including 4 double shot coffees to stay awake....

Raid X-adventure World Championship Qualifier...... raced with Brook Nunn, William Emerson and Eric Bone, strong athletic performance, strong navigation and lacked a bit on the organization, so we made a few preventable errors... i am thoroughly happy with the teams performance and it looks like we ended up 26th of 52teams, not bad in the most competitive AR field i have ever seen
Trail Run 4:05:33 [3] 26 km (9:27 / km) +1500m 7:20 / km
started off in mt.bachelor ski resort and ran to the top of mt bachelor with crampons (all the pro teams with kathoolas and me with old hiking shoes and real crampons, bummer, william towed me for most of the run and eric sometimes carried my pack, my performance was rather dissapointing, that plus a nav error and a clipped compass brought us some bad luck.. but we still had our 2nd best placing leg wise, 21st)
Mountainbike 4:14:52 [3] 67 km (3:48 / km) +800m 3:35 / km
then set off with brook and eric to do the MTB section, tough tough tough with tons of riding in sand... but i did well and gave brook and eric a good draft and towed eric some, we did ok but eric had a flat (tzz, on that old tube no surprise) so we lost a bit on that...
Paddling (canoeing) 4:24:25 [3] 20 km (13:13 / km) +20m 13:09 / km
the probably worst and toughest of all.. i did my 3rd straight leg without sitting out and paddled with brook and william, we had to wear wetsuits and i had enormous cramps everywhere in my legs (no blood flow and dehydration) for the first hour... this leg included a portage of about 15 minutes and a ton of dillusional babbling of all of us since we were so exhausted....

did a bit of inlineskating with brook, she needs to seriously train if she wants to do next weeks race with us... it was not a pretty sight....

tiger mt. poopoo point w yumay, towing her on all uphills, then iverson trail back to the car, and intended a long training with preston, nwtimber, but my chain got stuck between the cogs and spokes, had to bring it in.. bummer...

tried to go for a hard 1h run, but at 33.5minutes something started feeling weird in my left hip so i immediately aborted, gave me a bit of a scare.. i think its nothing but i dont want to push the limits given the race next weekend...

took a fast boat out to the 3rd bridge and back, super calm, super fast, super tired

inlineskating in the morning with yumay, i could have gone faster/farther but i just decided to take it easy, sometimes cruised away and then waited... pretty happy with my performance, need to compare this with my teammates to see if we re going to be reasonably fast at x-adventure

Wicked Urban Sprint Adventure Race in Portland, Oregon....
drove down to portland friday night and volunteered to savekeep the race HQ which was in the heart of portland during the rose festival, all of us (liz stahl, william emerson, eric bone and I) stayed up in shifts and slept in a nearby tent in the middle of the city...
the race was a good course with a bit too much biking and not enough running, though the pace was so fast (on the run) that i was quite happy it wasnt longer... my performance during the bike (towed liz for most of the bike leg) and kayak (felt energized and had a good cadence with william) was very satisfying..
could not quite keep up with scott cole, NW nikeACG and DART, placed 4th of about 40 teams, 2nd in the Coed4 category...
