kayaked with yumay, jeff and michelle from NOC to ballard locks and back, was a perfectly calm and enjoyable session... dim sum for breakfast after that... what more for a holiday!

hiked granite mountain with rainer... pouring rain the whole way up, though snowfields, and when we got to the top a snowstorm... made it back down allright but i just hope next weekend of the race the weather s going to be a bit nicer..

did Mt. Si (1020m vertical gain, 4.0miles, 56min), rattlesnake (510m, 2.5miles, 27min) and mailbox peak (1420m, 5miles, 95min) (downhills appx 11 miles, 3h) with jeff, running/hiking up, downhills relatively slow and easy... we wanted to connect the peaks with the bikes, even though we re adventure racers we were to sissy to do so, so we just connected by car... was a great workout anyways....
p.s. noticed that my resting heart rate has been higher for weeks, (52 up from 45) maybe from overtraining? or just natural fluctuation over time?

run with jeff at cougar.... started off with military trail to coyote, connected to bear ridge... went back and after about 1.5h started getting tired (still from last weekend?) and decided to skip the canyon, did deleo wall instead... felt better again and ended up fairly strong... not a bad week at all...

World Championship Rogaining: did the rogaine with michael and it was brutal and a blast... we got 2700 points (7th mens open, 15th overall) ... altitude was the key apart from running and navigation, mike felt sick and burned out after a few hours but recovered quite a bit later...... i suffered mostly in the early morning hours and at the very end (blisters galore) ....
a phantastic event, great map and nearly flawless navigation by mike....

first sprint trioba out in ellensburg... 17/32 teams.... did not do particularly good on the orienteering, plus jeff was sick for a good portion of the race so i d say we got the max out of it and are well prepared for the 24h... note to self... i need to learn to orienteer better....

night navigation class by eric bone, out in magnusson park, great class and even better course... ran with jeff and did really well in the beginning, had problems with 13-15 and got the rest right away... i may be able to help michi a bit at the rogaining world champs after all...
