Mountainbike (commute) 1:21:05 [3] 22.2 mi (3:38 / mi) +50m 2:15 / km
took the ole lightspeed out for a spin, that thing feels heavier than a swiss bull now that i have been on my roadie for so long... i need the specialized Sworks carbon... cant deal with 28lbs anymore...
Mountainbike (commute) 1:15:30 [2] 22.2 mi (3:24 / mi) +50m 2:06 / km

Monday Jul 30

Trail Run 51:20 [3] 5.5 mi (9:20 / mi)

A wee bit tired from yesterday but maybe it was just the heat too... did some semi fast spurts inbetween.... at the arboretum and back...

Sunday Jul 29

Trail Run 3:55:34 [2] 22.3 mi (10:34 / mi) +610m 6:03 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Lime#2
bizarro weather in the driest month... last weekend ran 7h in the rain, today 4h... nice conditions though, warm and wet is pretty good...
ran to watershed and did two 5.2 mile loops and then ran back... saw a deer no more than 10 meters from me grazing,... apparently the michel-wobble has become so standard it did not even scare the deer away...

Friday Jul 27

Trail Run 3:13:00 [2] 19.0 mi (10:09 / mi) +400m 5:55 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Lime#2
Whoa! Got my bootie kicked a bit today.... forgot the headlamp at home so had to drive home instead of doing double Si, Yumay asked if she could run too so we did the 19 mile Fall BEAST loop instead... we took it pretty easy at first and I towed her up the hill but on mile 14 when we hit the burke she just went into overdrive... i tried to keep up but it was very painful.. did milepost calcs and we were running sub 8.5 minute mile pace which is a bit fast for me 15 miles into a run for training purpouses... she loved the fact that she dropped me at the end....

Saturday Jul 21

Event: Seattle Night and Day Challenge

Orienteering 6:58:30 [3] 31.09 mi (13:27 / mi) +901m 7:40 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Lime#2
seattle night and day with yumay.... originally planned on the 16h duathlon (8+8) but changed our plans midway though as she has a 5h important business meeting (microsoft must have forgotten about the 7th day resting thing...) sunday afternoon so we did the 7h foot... 7h on pavement sucks for my hips, but overall it was massive fun and i nav'ed without loosing time, essentially other than two times about 30 secs having to find the object in question we were good...

Friday Jul 20

Mountainbike 2:05:00 [2] 39 km (3:12 / km) +420m 3:02 / km
fun ride with my dad and brother in law near my hometown, lots of double and some singletrack... legs felt great other than on some of the long climbs, and lungs have now 95% of capacity back... all good and recovered... phew

Thursday Jul 12

Note
(injured) (sick)
Extremely short of breath, can barely move past glacial speed and not sleep well, may need to go see a doctor before taking a 12h flight being restricted to a tiny seat... now i know what it feels like to be 300+lbs and smoking... walked 1 mile with my sister and the babies and had to turn around, took us almost 1h...
C • DEFINITELY go see a doctor, an... 1

Wednesday Jul 11

Roadbiking 3:04:24 [3] 70 km (2:38 / km) +1100m 2:27 / km
breathing problems... nasty breathing problems... some bronchial thing...
Swimming 50:00 [1] 1.5 km (33:20 / km)
hey guys, its me, unfortunately... this is going to be the last post for a while... i got to the TA after a kick@$$ bike section where i passed another few solos that looked pretty done... breathing problems started early on the pass but did not really slow me down much, it was about 30F and snowing on top, and rainy and super cold, did not help on the way down... all of a suddent it cleared up (felt like an astma attack for a while) and i got the the TA and decided to go swim right away... the water was bittercold (58F) and the breathing problems returned, slowly getting worse by the minute... tried to alleviate it with floating and brest stroke, but that did not work at all.... kept doing it for another few minutes, until my chest stated seizing up and i felt like i was going to suffocate... a rescue boat picked me up and left me the option to continue, they wrapped me up in warm blankets and i waited for 30 mintues, but the breathing was still super hard and I promised Yumay just one thing, not to die out there.. nothing is more important I guess :)
oh well, it was an amazing four days, beautiful scenery, great support (they slept less than i did and never even got a chance to shower), and my body responded very well to the "stage" like hammering...
roger, over and out... thanks for the shout outs.. see you on the trails..
