Orienteering 11:40:30 [3] 41 km (17:05 / km) +2100m 13:36 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Lime#2
BM24h night loop... got in, had my two nasty big blisters on the heel taken care of, taped up my sprained foot like a mummy, and hobbled out into the night.... missed the first checkpoint by one reentrant, funny enough again the one and only mistake Vlad made in 24h (excactly like last year's race, the first CP after the break)... moved slow at night due to terrain, us being tired, and thinking we d clean the course anyways... then in the early AM it looked like we d have to miss some, but around 3.30 am we picked it up in a very impressive manner and ran/powerhiked the last 7h... always great when you finish the race on a high note.
C • It is the same for me. At aro... 2

Event: Big Muddy Ranch Rogaine #4

Orienteering 10:56:00 [2] 53 km (12:23 / km) +2300m 10:10 / km
(injured) shoes: Montrail Hardrock #1
Big Muddy 24h Rogaine at Antelope, OR, with Vlad again like last year, and a stellar performance from both (I felt very solid on foot the whole 24h, and Vlad felt better than last year, especially during the daytime hours)... Vlad again naved and did a superb job, but this time I did too for most of the race and was able to give plenty of good feedback. We finished 2nd overall, cleaning the course except for two CPs (one was never there to begin with and one was way too dangerous at night lodged inbetween cliffs so we gave up). MOMAR beat us, they had an even better race and finished about 30min ahead of us. I had one really scary moment when I fell into a deep ditch at nightfall and re-tore my ligament, its been torn so much that I was able to continue, but now my foot is elephantocious and there is a lot of blood lodged at the side below the skin, showing the sprain even better.. oh well, a couple of days rest are in order anyways....
