Note

Gorge Games 24h race... this was a superb race in one of the most beautiful areas you could ever set up a 24h race, and I had great fun racing with the team, but it was also tough what was thrown at us. Matt called me thursday said he was sick as a dog... only got worse, and he decided to come with us friday anyways to "check it out", crazy but not untypical of matt, i would have curled up in a fetal position and cried in bed all day probably.... anyhow at the preracemeeting it looked like he was going to race, until he threw up all over the marina, about 20 minutes to start.... so we asked dave russell, last second, if he can race with us, which he did, but that hurt us big time on speed, dave s just done PQ, and not recovered terribly well yet. Anyhow, daves knowledge of the area offset some of that... then after the paddle shane forgot to inform us of a rule change with made us not get additional 700 points on the course.. ridiculous but even though it was his fault we had to pay for it, i still dont get it, but oh well. After all that we were a bit demotivated and frustrated, but got our groove together again soon, we raced against dart for most of the trekking section, their nav sucked most of the time but they ran/biked much faster than us all day and beat us fair and square by like 1000 points, so even with the 700 points we would have not gotten them... anyhow we got 2nd so not bad at all.... was fun racing with kimberly, todd novack and dave russel, a great race with tons and tons of good nav and excellent singletrack.
