Mountainbike 6:10:00 [3] 15.0 mi (24:40 / mi) +1000ft 23:12 / mi

finish up of trioba, finished in 30h20min, the last four hours were hard, i had various bloody bruises and monkey butt and we had not slept for about 48h straight, some of the sleepmonster came out to play and i started hallucinaing, usuall stuff, saw moby dick, some trolls and a 5 foot spider, miles and i kept it together on the nav though except for small bits and pieces, he naved about 2/3, i did about 1/3 of the course, and we had a good time with no big blunders... when it was all said and done i got 3h of sleep before we had to get up and pack and head out

Mountainbike 1:30:00 [3] 20.0 mi (4:30 / mi) +1500ft 4:12 / mi

Trioba 24h Race, raced with Miles, Andrew and Beth as MerGeo, not the best of races (only finished 5th overall) in terms of placement but had a thoroughly great time, i hadnt raced with either and it was beths first AR ever. We did good on the first bike, paddle and second bike section, then the wheels came off a bit on the long trek and last bike in terms of speed. Beth sprained her ankle quite badly about halfway through the trek and then it was all survival mode and getting it done, she s certainly tough and also never once complained about the lenght of the course or the fact that the last four controls were bingo and we spent 4h instead of 1h to find at leasts 3 of the last 4 controls, and when confronted with the question of whether we should continue to look for the last she merely said that we have until 9 AM cut off, and she s up for looking for it, given that we got the one after the second last we could not go back though as it stated in the rules, and we finished with just 28 of 29cps.. had we gotten the last we would have somewhat unfarily gotten 2nd place instead of 5th, as only one other team got them all, but checkpointzero, verve and nuun/feedthemachine all got 28 as well and were hours ahead of us.
Glen did a great job for the first 95% of the course and then completely botched up the last 5 percent, the last 8 miles of singletrack could have been skipped anyways since the previous 20 were already awesome and after 24h of racing and a 12 mile singletrack downhill it was just painful and no fun to ride the last 8 miles which were very hilly and unfortunately not really mapped on USGS or greentrals, so despite his CPs being in the right place per se, getting there was super hard as the trails were not mapped in the right place so it was very hard to figure out where we were. Doesnt matter though, overall it was a great course, certainly a 24h plus as advertized, and it was fun seeing everyone again up there, its been over a year.

This is the MTB section one of the race, it started at midnight with a short 1.5h ride up a fireroad crisscrossed mountain, good route choice problem and good riding. Asked to tow beth but she did not feel that comfortable with it yet so we rode a bit slower and were surprised when we got to the paddle that we were one of the first teams to arrive. We easily lost 10 minutes speed-wise but we nailed the nav.

Paddling 3:00:00 [2] 13.0 mi (13:51 / mi)

Paddling, miles nailed the tough night nav.. cool course to the slew at the other side of lake wenatchee, we got stuck in mud three times, once for a long time (lost over 5min) and beth got hypothermic so she needed to change (another 5 min) other than that we would have been first team out of the water.., i think we were 4th... Miles and Andrew are excellent paddlers so that helped a lot

Mountainbike 4:30:00 [3] 20.0 mi (13:30 / mi) +3800ft 11:26 / mi

long bike ride up to the trek, some nav first then all climb, fire road and at top single track, towed beth up to maverick saddle and we were able to hang with checkpointzero and ellsworthAR (they pulled away a bit but not much)... on the single track we slowed down a bit but were only 10-15 minutes behind verve, cp0 at the TA

Trail Run 9:00:00 [3] 23.0 mi (23:29 / mi) +4700ft 19:40 / mi
shoes: Brooks Cascadia M4 Silver #1

all these distances and times are a guess right now, will update later.. trek was well done, interesting course, well placed cps, first 5 were reasonably challenging but not super hard, lost 2x5min on being in the right vicinity but needing to find the right microride or microreentrant... after beth sprained her ankle we moved much slower
