Orienteering race 1:07:11 [5] **** 7.0 km (9:36 / km)
13c shoes: Brooks Cascadia 3

JV Boys Course was a great run. Time was 24:11 and the total run was about 3.5 k. I feel good about it, but the results aren't out yet. We'll see how it goes. Update: aaaand I lost by 6 seconds. Just goes to show you that when you think you have a good time, someone beats you by a hair, and when you are least expecting it, you win. Man, it really stinks though considering I know of about a billion places I could have made that up. I guess the other guy just smoked. He had a ton of red/blue splits on Winsplits and found the hardest control when it counted. He made 3 mistakes and still got me.

Did Public Course 3 with Grandpa. Took him orienteering for the first time and we walked it together. He liked it a lot. Got 43 min. flat. Not bad. I think he's hooked :).

Overall it was a great workout. Today's course 4 felt longer than the first two meets even though it was 200 m less as the crow flies. Maybe it was just the street crossing that threw me off.

Push-Ups: 3 sets of 20 (15 sec. apart, 4 min.)
Sit-Ups: 40 (in 1 min.)
Partial Sit-Ups: 250 (3 min.)

Sprint Drills 8:50 [3] 1.0 mi (8:50 / mi)

Did 10 sets of 100 yds. sprinting as part of workout. Don't want to overrun controls on Saturday though, so I'll run carefully.
