Orienteering race (Bridle Trails) 28:20 [5] ** 4.2 km (6:45 / km) +75m 6:12 / km
spiked:10/11c

Not a particularly hard course in a trails only park, but much more promise and help in the season standings.

I did pretty well myself, with only one little hiccup at control #3 (lost about 25 seconds) other than that, I just didn't quite run as fast and it ended up costing me. My conservative running earned me second behind my teammate, who is in better shape and knows the park well. At least he was my teammate and it was only his third meet ever. At the end of the day though, my being scared to take chances cost me the race.

Thanks to sweeping the top two spots though, we defeated Lakeside handily (It was our home park) and we now have a commanding lead. Lakeside now has to beat us 3 out of the 4 remaining meets at minimum, and the margin might be more if we win one more meet. We are in great shape and it is very exciting.

I think I am ready for UW this year. I just needed a meet to settle down and find my optimum speed and I think I am ready to break through and clamber my way up the standings. I am also happy that I managed to slightly avenge my loss in last years JV Boys season against my old nemesis :) Alex Cook today. Nah I wish him well.

Managed to jump from 16 points out of first in 5th to just 4 points in 3rd.
