Note

Still alive.

Drove a right hand drive, manual car, about 60 km into neighbouring Germany today. Total stressed out and feels totally odd and had lots of problems with stalls when crossing roads and turning so lots of abuse from.other drivers. Unfortunately i cannot get an automatic. It took more than 20 minutes to prepare car in morning - scrape snow off windscreen, then the ice - both inside and outside. Wing mirrors automatically retract when parked which is hopeless when they are frozen solid the next day. Cant wind down windows to see either as they also frozen solid. Even hear the ice cracking around door frame when you jam them open.

Still havent done any running. Havent got anything warm enough which is also flexible. And i think the icy conditions are just asking for trouble.

Visited a gym to check out facilities but wont join until i find a more permanent residence.

Used my first ever laundromat yesterday and had to use google translate on all the signs to work it out.

Also using duolingo app to try and learn the language. So i can do four or five words sentences now as long as they contain the, and, boy, man, girl, woman etc. So .. Ja, ik ben spreekt Nederlands goed! Seriously its hard work and will take 18 months or more.

But summary is still that i am drowning and cant come up for air. This is the hardest struggle i have ever faced.

I have lots of photos of castles, moats, cathedral towers, canals and frozen lakes etc i just havent had time to post.
