Run 5 km NSW - Official Menai 28:24 [3] 5.0 km (5:41 / km)

Menai parkrun.

39th tourism run in a row (13 remain to hit my target of 52 in a row). 63rd location. 92nd run.

This allowed me to complete the “Sydney parkrun” box set and claim my “Raefarer” status.

I couldn’t find an “official” list of the events that counted so included 23 events Campbelltown, Chipping Norton, Cooks River, Cronulla, Curl Curl, Dolls Point, East Richmond, Galston, GreenWay, Kamay, Menai, Mosman, Nepean River, North Sydney, Panania, Parramatta, Penrith Lakes, Rhodes, Rooty Hill, St Peters, The Ponds, Wildflower and Willoughby.

Just to be sure I added in Lawson, Lithgow and Picton but these are a stretch to be considered Sydney.

About 4 of these were launched since I started this Quest so I assume there will be ongoing future “work” to maintain this status.

Menai this morning had the friendliest welcome of any Sydney parkrun. They even surprised me by making me stand up and talk about this being my final Sydney run and my quest for 52 runs when they asked about park run tourists.

Very nice start area with ample carparking, toilets and the choice of 3 petrol stations!

An out and back, out and back course with short amount of grass and remainder concrete. Included a pedestrian bridge over a main road with a complete spiral up the wheelchair ramp and a spiral back down the other side which was something completely different.

Joined the volunteers afterwards and amused several by introducing them to all the crazy clubs and challenges tourists dream up.

According to the Chrome “Running Challenges” app my NENDY is now Sandon Point.

Apart from heading out to pick up Bathurst between previously completed events at Lithgow and Orange …. I will have to start heading south every weekend.

If I head north its either Merriwa or Wauchope so options more limited!
