Note
(rest day)

Legs sore. Shoulders sore. Back sore.
Feeling half flogged from yesterday.

I hadn't pre-entered the Pairs Event so decided to skip it ... even as a 'trainee' exercise.

Beautiful sunny day so drove 2 hours north to Harrington and had lovely lunch at the Irish Pub .... best scotch fillet steak I can ever remember eating... so sorry Newcastle O Club but your sausage sangers just couldn't compete today ;-)
Then sight seeing and lookouts and lighthouse.
Walk along river after stop at Taree on the way back.

Note

Skipped parkrun yet again.
I was in town overnight so had toyed with the idea of parkrun tourism and going to Blue Gum Hills.
Getting totally slack.

But the afternoon was going to make up for it.

Other - Slave Labouring (Part 1) 2:00:00 [4]

Working at my twin brothers helping him in post storm recovery (yes ... still!)
He had four big trees over but his block is very steep so they were at almost the bottom of 80 flights of stairs.

He bought a brand new Farm Boss Stihl chainsaw, and all the associated oils and safety gear, last Tuesday (last day of financial year) with me and I was going to help him out and teach him how to use it.
From Miscellaneous

First two hours working solo as his wife was working so he had to mind his 1 1/2 year old son.
Brand new chainsaw and chain was as absolute delight and cut through logs like butter.
I got the majority of them chopped up into less than 1 metre lengths and got all the semi dangerous stuff (where trees were supported off the ground on branches and needed to be cut through to fall to the ground without trapping me or the chainsaw) done so any "lessons" for him were with logs on ground level.

Break for lunch.
1 PM

Other - Slave Labouring (Part 2) 2:30:00 [5]

Time approximate as both of us kept getting totally wrecked and having a breather.

Carrying piles of logs, approximately 40 kg or so, UP 4 stories of stairs to get them to his driveway for disposal.
From Miscellaneous

Resulting pile of logs wasn't that huge by my normal Wallalong standards but the effort in getting them there was substantial.

Reminder from photo log from 2011 of the staircase I am talking about.
And this is only to get to the bottom of the house ... not the remaining two stories further to the driveway.
From Miscellaneous

By the end of today I remembered why I chose to sell my prior Cardiff house.
Steep blocks make every task 5 times harder.
Wallalong, despite its larger size, much more manageable.

Gym Mayfield - Class Weights 55:00 [3]

Other - Zumba 50:00 [1]

First attempt at Zumba at Tea Gardens.
Could have made my money back by charging tinytoes admission to witness my spectacularly stylish and graceful efforts. :-P (another corgi activity)
The ladies gave me a standing ovation afterwards for turning up.

Ankle a problem as I can no longer handle rapid changes in direction so I didn't move fast enough to sweat much.

Note

No Pure Run as attending a work farewell dinner for ex-boss who was responsible for me getting my transfer from Whyalla to Newcastle in 2001.

Other - Modern Jive Dance Class 1:30:00 [1]

I hadn't been to a class since 24th February or an event since 1st March.
But my novice bush walker / orienteer is an avid dancer so this was "evening up" the score for shared activities.
Also meant I could stay with one dance partner throughout rather than the normal rotation exercise.

I am still hopeless but we had a laugh about it.
