17c (injured) shoes: Saucony March 2015

Nominal 4.5 km.

Normal level of park course.
Still struggling with fitness so happily paused at various controls to punch .... but never stopped otherwise or walked.
Left hip not happy for first 5 controls when I was pushing harder to overtake the first starter.

Walk - Bush 1:15:00 [3] 4.0 km (18:45 / km)
(injured) shoes: Saucony March 2015

Driving back through Buladelah I had always wanted to climb Alum Mountain (since the rockfaces look spectacular from the town) so today was the day. Crossed bridge over the bypass and parked car at bottom of old tramway road.
iPhone app said 155 m climb and lookout said 200 m above sea level at the top. Used two sticks as trekking poles which made things easier.
Totally unplanned with no map or understanding what tracks there were.
Lots of stunning rockfaces and view out over the township.
Didn't get completely to the "top" as such as could find no trail to get higher.
Distance approximate as app stopped once or twice.

Run 5 km NSW - Official Port MacQuarie 27:21 [3] 5.0 km (5:28 / km)
(injured) shoes: Saucony March 2015

Unexpected opportunity to add a different parkrun location to make up my 20!
Met up with Geoff, Margaret and Baxter Peel also doing parkrun tourism.
Still have Singleton to go yet!

Injuiries and fitness held up better than last week so 4 faster as didn't stop once for a break or breather.
Can also see why they have to start at 7 am as the run overlaps a popular tourist walk and they are getting complaints and reportedly had someone knocked over.

KC in attendance and shaved 1:10 off prior time here and set a new personal best by 7 seconds across all park runs of 32:37

Went in a 45 minute "cruise" with www.portjet.com.au doing rapid and tight turns and jumps over waves. Manouverability very impressive. Saw 2 dolphins. Reportedly the fastest commercial boat in NSW.

Unfortunately learnt my stomach could only take this activity for 30 minutes before I was the only person in the boat to revisit their breakfast :-(

Made "the list" in Australia after meeting the criteria of minimum of 20 different courses.

Got to find 4 more to overtake the Peels.
But I don't have the advantage of a camper van and no longer working full time!

Gardening - Mowing (#55 43.6 hrs - 44.6 hrs) 1:05:00 [1]
(injured)

Time fill whilst waiting to be picked up for drive to Port MacQuarie.
Mowing after 3 weeks.

I was filling the pool, level dropped substantially since no rain in last week, simultaneously with my 30 metre retractable hose reel from the house. One of four reels I previously got installed around every side of house for potential fire fighting around house perimeter.

I slowed to a crawl before driving over the top but still managed to chop it to pieces as cutting deck on lower setting :-( Whoops! Either try a joiner or my hose is now only 20 metres long. The 42 inches of hose under the cutting deck turned to mince!

Didn't finish mowing so will return on weekend probably Sunday afternoon
