Walk - Bush 1:29:42 [2] 7.23 km (12:24 / km)
shoes: Brooks PureGrit 4

Hike to lower and upper falls at Belair National Park after the prompting of jennycas.
Despite all the rain there was still barely a trickle over the edge so you must have to go up there when it's pouring like at Waterfall Gully the other day.
Photos basically identical to 2 1/2 years ago.
Need to regain my mojo and run again tomorrow.

Will miss Cleland parkrun opening this Saturday.

Fly to back to Newcastle on Saturday leaving Adelaide about 9:30 am and arriving 1:50 pm. Feeling very weird and apprehensive about returning. Booked room at Wests Executive Inn for 2 nights (weird not having a home) and then drive to Sydney Monday and have a factory visit on Tuesday. After that I haven't decided whether I am flying back out of Sydney or coming back to Newcastle until the following Monday.

Note
(rest day)

No running or hiking today - decided to pass on 3rd hike up Mount Lofty with another group.
Had to continue to sort out remaining Netherlands issues to try and close off that saga.
Also looking at options for Sydney and Newcastle trip.

Run 5 km SA - Health Rebuild 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

Same deal. Accidentally paused iPhone on run so not sure of time but slower than yesterday.
2 PM

Walk Meetup SA - Health Rebuild 2:30:00 [3] 8.0 km (18:45 / km)

Walk Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty (again) with meetup group of 3 other people. Time and distance approximate.
Basically pouring rain throughout and never seen the waterfalls flowing so fast - water all brown and turbid with mixed up sediment. Would be very interesting to be up there in full on flood conditions (but with a guarantee could still get out of the car park afterwards please!).
Lots of large piles of hail on the sides of tracks thick enough to have looked like snow. At the cafe at the lookout someone had made a miniature 'snowman' and left it out for display on one of the tables.
In comparison to the other day couldn't really see much view from lookout and freezing wind meant we didn't hang around long.
Photos on Facebook. Also will upload some videos of the Falls so can see and hear the difference.
7 PM

Note

I now need to be in Sydney next Tuesday to explore a job opportunity.
Looking at range of options today but may fly into Newcastle Sunday before and fly out Sunday after to catch up with family and friends who may be available.

Run 5 km SA - Health Rebuild 35:00 [3] 5.0 km (7:00 / km)

First 4 km 23:23.
Still forcing this.
Rainy wintery day and got wet between 1-2 km and got a stitch. Weather meant to be getting worse later tonight.

Walk Meetup SA - Health Rebuild 1:00:00 [1] 4.3 km (13:57 / km)

Morialta with Meetup group in constant rain wearing raincoat and cap.
Let myself down today by not pushing for a run in the morning before the rain settled in.

Run 5 km SA - Official Mawson Lakes 29:21 [3] 5.0 km (5:52 / km)

Fastest 4 km in last 2 weeks I think and back under 30 minutes for 5 km taking almost 1 1/2 minutes off last weeks time.

This must be one of the parkruns with the largest amounts of twists and turns with little red arrow signs everywhere. Pleasant enough views as ran around the edges of the artificial lake for majority of course.

If I am still here next weekend I think I will do the inaugural Cleland parkrun which is completely on trails and I would think hilly as I have walked up there multiple times. I still have Christies Beach, Strathalbyn and Gawler to do. I don't think I can be bothered driving to Renmark to get that one in SA!

Walk - Bush 2:00:00 [2] 6.5 km (18:28 / km)

Round 3 at Morialta.
Hiked up the reverse way to Wednesday to the 2nd Falls and was rewarded with an even more stunning perspective of the view from that side as looking downward without trees obscuring the view.
58 minutes to cover 3.23 km up and 234 m climb.
Sat down under the bridge to spend the day reading amongst the view and sounds of running water but it poured after 3 pages and I couldn't find decent shelter under the bridge or rock overhangs so I bailed.
Went the reverse way back past the first Falls and was again rewarded with a totally different perspective from above.
Photos on Facebook.
1 PM

Run 5 km SA - Health Rebuild 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

First 4 km in 24:58.
I got rung up by an ex colleague today, who heard I was back in Australia, and effectively offered a job.
Different industry completely but still manufacturing.
More details early next week and I may consider trialling it for a month as I don't want another situation like the last 6 months.
