Walk Meetup SA - Health Rebuild 1:51:00 [2] 6.72 km (16:31 / km)

Meetup walk with 5 others around Sheperds Hill recreation park which I had never ever visited before.
A few creek crossings and a climb up to railway tunnel and embankment which was somewhat interesting as one of the people on the walk told the story of how a train derailed and as a result they moved the tunnel, demolished the old bridge and built the new embankment.
No koalas, echidnas or wallabies spotted.
4 PM

Orienteering - Park 11:00 [1] * 1.17 km (9:24 / km)

Fixed Orienteering Course at Hawthorndene Reserve.
Did this as it was on the way back from the meetup walk.
Scale was 1:1800 so I think I spent more time at each control scribbling down the 2 letter ID then I did actually jogging around.
Very basic .... I enjoyed the other courses from a few years back at Belair and around central Adelaide more.

Note
(rest day)

Rainy day with hail, lightening and forecast high winds so mother told me I was not going to drive her car!
So worked from 5:30 am to 7:30 pm in my Dads study sorting the paper contents of 6 off 3 drawer filing cabinets into piles for either bin or shredding.
I have now seen every tax return, job application, and letter he wrote from 1956 to 2015 so his meticulous record keeping is taking a while to dispose of!
Boring tedious task but thankfully will only have to do it once!

Run 5 km SA - Official Cleland 33:13 [3] 5.0 km (6:39 / km)

57th parkrun at 28th location.
Attended the 3rd ever run at Cleland (I missed the inaugural event with flying to Newcastle two weeks ago) after a 10 minute mad search for barcode before giving up and printing new ones.
First Wooter to attend this event!
Came 22nd of 28 competitors and my slowest time ever but had to work hard.
I looked at the prior times before attending and best time was 21-22 minutes so I thought OMG it must be hilly .... and it was!
Out and back course and first half almost all downhill so you knew you were up for a slog on the way back ..... mapmyrun says 183 metre climb.
So not super steep but enough that multiple people, including myself, gave up and walked sections.
Still got Strathalbyn and Christies Beach to go before I head to Sydney but if that gets delayed I may fit in Gawler or a few ones further away.

Returned home, after disposing of two car tyres at an very obliging tyre shop, before returning to filling the skip and cutting overhanging trees over the roof.
3 PM

Run - Miscellaneous 11:17 [2] 1.85 km (6:06 / km)

Jog from mothers house to Hazelwood Park.

Orienteering - Park 13:24 [2] * 1.81 km (7:24 / km)
15c

Permanent Orienteering course for Hazelwood Park downloaded from Orienteering SA website.
15 controls.
I had done about 5 of these maps on prior visits but this one had been added in the last year.
Also downloaded some new others to try later in week.
Very basic but it got me out of the house but I was very much feeling the after affects from this morning.

Walk - Street 25:45 [1] 1.93 km (13:21 / km)

Walk back to mothers as too tired to run uphill.

Walk Meetup SA - Health Rebuild 1:07:53 [1] 6.1 km (11:08 / km)

Walk around river Torrens with 2 other people.

Got back at 11 am only one minute clear of 5 cubic metre skip being delivered. Bought a cheap $30 angle grinder and spent the rest of the day cutting up steel and wood to pack as much volume into skip as I could. Had over half of it empty so spent the rest of the day looking for more junk or clearing out my Dads study, At the moment can't see an opportunity to fill another skip after this one .... as my older brother emptied 3-4 skips at Christmas ... on top of my 2 weeks of paper disposal a year or more back.

So surprisingly sore and tired so no run today.
Opportunity for a new park run location tomorrow .... just got to choose where.

Gym Substitute - Health Rebuild 1:00:00 [2]

Range of legs, abs, and chest exercises using body weight as a substitute for gym membership as its not worth joining anything until I know which State and Suburb I will end up.

Lost so much strength and stamina that its not at all funny - I will have to learn from this and never ever stop exercise routine ever again.
10 AM

Walk Meetup SA - Health Rebuild 2:00:00 [3] 8.0 km (15:00 / km)

Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty lookout and return.
The guy I was with set a cracking pace as we got to top in under 55 minutes but talking all the way.
Stopped in Cafe at the bottom upon return for a drink and I realised I had never been inside ever in my entire life despite visiting uncountable number of times (only ordered food through hole in wall previously ... but this is now incorporated into an enclosed verandah).
6 PM

Gym Substitute - Health Rebuild 20:00 [2]

I spent 3 hrs carrying more than 25 loads of junk from top of mothers steep block to bottom to start filling a skip today. So I was pretty tired before I started this and therefore bailed after only 20 minutes. Looonng way back to restore fitness.

Walk Meetup SA - Health Rebuild 1:15:00 [1] 6.5 km (11:32 / km)

Walk along beach front.
All new people to me.
Sat in cafe for over an hour afterwards for general chat.
Got the phone call I had been waiting for from Sydney in the middle of the cafe session.
5 PM

Run 5 km SA - Health Rebuild 35:00 [3] 5.0 km (7:00 / km)

First 4 km 24:58 and legs were very very sore.

My boring Adelaide routine may be at an end in the next fortnight.
I have been offered a job in Sydney after last weeks exercise of 2 days of interview and factory tour.
I didn't even apply for this job - an ex colleague heard I was back and wanted me to come and work for him.

I always swore I would never take a job in Sydney but I have never been unemployed in the last 25 years previously either. Completely different industry to steel but if I return to steel I will just further box myself in for remaining 20 years of my career.

And I got contacted via LinkedIn last night to go work in the steel industry in United Arab Emirates, in a similar fashion to what happened at the start of the Netherlands saga, but I have definitely learnt my lesson now and aren't even going to consider the possibility!
