I only managed 6.5 km in 43:05 (so fitness still needs work) for 390 points of a possible 600 (fixed quantity of 10 x 10 pointers, 10 x 20 pointers and 10 x 30 pointers each week ... so similar to Newcastle’s 1, 2 and 3 pointers but quantity varies depending on setter).
Electronic timing and scoring with sportident which is different to Newcastle’s multiple choice clue solution and took me time to adjust to today (I certainly missed having the different coloured circles for 1, 2 and 3 point controls).
Other differences to Newcastle was the ability to spend as long as you liked looking at the map (rather than the pressure cooker 2 minutes) and the ability to start whenever you wanted rather than in groups of 3 every 2 minutes.
Hour drive there and back which appears will be the norm for Sydney.
But all new street maps for me (after 10 years in Newcastle had run some of the clubs 60 or so different maps 3-4 times) so that will occupy my next 26 Wednesday afternoons!
Combined with about 20 Saturday parkruns to do those two will help my Australian life rebuild and fitness restoration.
