Run 5 km NSW - Official The Ponds 29:25 [3] 5.0 km (5:53 / km)

Yet another Sydney Park run.
Squiggly course back and forth which looked really weird until you actually ran it and worked out how they were getting around a bridge without crossing the busy road.
10 AM

Orienteering - Park 33:00 [3] 2.96 km (11:09 / km)

St Ives High School. 25 controls. 1:2000 scale. Very basic map.
Time approximate.
KC and I walked it - she navigated and I punched for the first 10 controls and then we swapped over roles.
12 PM

Walk - Bush 1:10:00 [1] 4.5 km (15:33 / km)

Bobbin Head National Park around shoreline and through mangrove area.

Orienteering - Street Sydney (#04 Blue Gum Creek) 49:24 [3] 6.0 km (8:14 / km)

Fourth Sydney Summer Series.

Again surprised how different the maps and terrain are for Sydney versus Newcastle. More than half the time am running through bush and along tracks rather than the street.

Wasted a lot of time on Control 20 as the colours under the 0 made me read it as a 9 and then the Control description didn't make sense. I was also at least 50 metres out on the map.

Control 19-23-5 was entirely bush climbing up a steep hill, searching around a cliff face, and then clambering back down .... apart from it being recently burn out by bushfire this could have been a winter bush event leg.

Added on a few controls early on and it was obvious with 10-15 minutes to go I wasn't going to make it back on time. I added to my time loss by not checking where the finish flag was before I left so added about 1 minute to my penalty as I had to ask where it was and look for it.

I haven't got into any post run talks as yet or even spending much time comparing my scores or ranking online after the event.

Bike Ride - General 51:00 [3] 18.0 km (2:50 / km)

Distance a guess as it didn’t record properly.
Went the other way on the M7 cycle way and rode until the track merged onto M2 or some other road and I had enough and turned around

Bike Ride - General 1:33:28 [3] 33.41 km (2:48 / km)

Experimental bike ride from townhouse at Quakers Hill along M7 bike path until it ended at traffic lights opposite eastern creek industrial estate where work is located. A fair bit of up and down but kept it in top gear the entire way which was a good effort considering this is longest bike ride in probably 10 months.

I may leave the car at home and ride several days per week but don’t see bringing laptop home as viable.
