Run 5 km NSW - Official Lawson 33:51 [3] 5.0 km (6:46 / km)

Slowest ever parkrun but steepest Hills in last 6 months.
69th parkrun, 40th location and 11th parkrun in the Sydney region.

Course on fire trails with 5 out and back legs plus crossed a creek (via stepping stones) on two occasions.

Bushwalking afterwards around the park including Fairy Falls, Dante’s Glen, St Michaels Falls, Empire Pass, Fredrica Falls and Echo Point (not the stunning Katoomba one). The trail between St Michaels Falls and Fredrica Falls was absymal as was very narrow, blocked by uncountable fallen trees and I lost it completely at various locations. If there is a next time I will do an in and out and just visit the first three.

Note

Visited Katoomba afterwards and Echo Point to see the 3 sisters. Can’t remember the last time I saw these ... didn’t visit on the last October long weekend with KC.

Headed down the track and the bridge across to the first sister. The giant staircase said 900 steps in 40 minutes so I decided to do an out and back with that as I definitely had never been there. Only took me 17 minutes coming back up but certainly felt it!

After this since I still had hours left on the parking meter followed the cliff top walk around looking over at Scenic World railway (which I have vague recollection of being on) and skycar (which I don’t recall being on) before ending up at Katoomba Falls where I last visited with KC.

After walking back to car I headed back home via the longer loop option so I could stop at Mt Tomah Botanic Garden which I had never previously visited.

Ended up with over 25 km, 33900+ steps and about 254 floors climbed for the day according to my Fitbit.
