Early out exploring rivelin. Proper nice! Clear autumn morning helped. No doms from intervals, must try harder, but feeling a bit craft & dough so quite slow speed.

Really time to try to coax a bit more speed back, so dug out the split 3km session. A little conservative and only 3:15s at the fastest (had to cut off a bit to go to collect kids) but still thats harder than ive been working recently and i was also thinking about my calves... All felt much easier than expected so need to up the speed next time!

Feeling a bit knocked out again today, good with some recovery time. Decided i should make it up onto the top of the big spur at least once a week, except it doesnt seem such a climb any more. Nice afternoon!

calf a little tight still but better... uphill efforts from Hunter's Bar out to Ringinglow (10+5+5), then jog to the top of porter valley and some harder running on the downhill back to forge dam. mentally tough with a strong headwind on the way up and really not as fun as running in a group but got it done. legs really tired on the warm down so something worked (or maybe it was this morning?) also an extra warm up at the climbing wall with the kids, my fingers are not strong enough to do anything difficult but the first time in years my shoulders can take hanging off stuff.

planned for intervals but my calf was really tight again (maybe it only happens on tuesdays?!), i couldnt open out properly for strides so kept it to an easy run. except i was quite pissed off about missing intervals again and got up some rage-speed on the way home. if its okay tomorrow i might go for a tempo run instead, i think that would suit it better? no cold symptoms developed, just feel a bit generally tired. another thing to keep an eye on.
