Note

End of camp. An awful lot of rest these past few days, will be glad to get home to do a bit harder physical training again!

Was very unsure i would be able to race at all or even run much so v happy to get Saturday done. A lot that can get better and i really want to be able to properly run hard again but just have to be patient...

Easy run round some of the long distance, really very cool forest! Back to having quite bad focus though, too much time to overthink when there's less sense of urgency. Bit different terrain to nearer the coast but good to go to anyway.

Lørdagskjappen near Moss. Finally had the green light to race! Actually not feeling too hot at all physically but im not sure running much faster would have done much good. And it wasnt the aim.

Im really pleased that i applied myself well today, actually got the discipline and focus the best ive had all week. I still dropped time in some places, most noticeably when i underestimated some (marked as small passable) crags and got a bit stuck. Theres a lot still to learn about racing here but finally a solid start i can build on.

Felt foot but it wasnt too big a problem.

Rudskogen, happily round the corner ive not really been in before. Better discipline, pretty much the answer i think. Strict with running time after yesterday, just 30min v easy.

Not having a great time today, all the painkillers, sore throat gone though - can you get a fake sore throat?

Actually ran a full training! And the ~3km extra from mistakes. Not an exaggeration either. Orienteering isn't making me so happy because my level is so low, it's hard to feel like the same person who can sometimes be so successful. I was running very late this morning, a bit stressed, and that might have something to do with it.

I wanted to take the half day yesterday but left it til today because it fits in much better with logistics. Paying for it with a sore throat now, hopefully a short-lived one. I can feel the snotty nosen coming on already.

made a plan with Kim about the rest of the camp. it's mainly positive and i might even be able to race at the weekend! however one condition was that i have a recovery day today (at least for the heel). i didnt trust myself to go near a forest and stuck to the gym.
