Sufferfest: Rubber Glove (aka the FTP test). About the worst 20mins you can have indoors on a bike to determine your FTP. Been putting this off for - oh - about 6 months since my cleats are way too old on my shoes and now permanently seized on them so unable to replace. So with new shoes and cleats, a new chain, all obtained today there were no more excuses.
After it was all said and done FTP dropped from 296 to 288. Expected due to the software upgrade a while ago indicating the Kickr was overestimating power 5-10 watts. I thought it would be lower given my lack of cycling over the last 3 months. HR stayed at 155 for FTP.
No puking. Close. But no.
Glad to have that monkey off my back, however now I can't cheat and guesstimate my FTP, which was largely influenced by how much pain I wanted to endure, not by the science.

Can't say I've ever been comfortably road riding on Christmas eve. Quite nice other than a strong westerly. Routed NW/SE to keep the SW wind as a crosswind so not too bad. Great day. NP 227W.
