Not all that successful run up/round Mount Somers. The path we had intended to run was closed due to rock fall! Better than getting up before 6 to travel to the parkrun though.

Running 1:03:13 [3] 7.0 mi (9:02 / mi)

Pre breakfast run to Allan’s beach. No sign of Allan but we did see 2 sea lions. Missed out on the penguins though. Shifting on the way back as Hannah wanted to get back to tour the garden of the place we were staying.

Monday Apr 30 #

Running 2:18:54 [3] 15.8 mi (8:47 / mi) +954m 7:24 / mi
shoes: Inov8 X talon 225

Gave up the idea of running the Kepler track (36miles) after the problem with my calf. But did want to at least run some of it. So from the control gates up to Luxmore hut. 25mins flat along the lake then 55mins uphill. Quick stop at the hut, no view to speak of unfortunately. But a very enjoyable long run. The track was actually closed beyond the Luxmore due to snow and ice, but it didn’t look that bad to me.
