Dragons Back Day 2 recce (part) from Maentwrog to Dolgellau with Mark Bottomley and Rob Bullen.

Moving Time: 6:54:13
Elapsed Time: 8:04:35

Maentwrog>Cwm Bychan: I tried to follow the provisional route provided by the organisers which went via the Llyn Trawsfynydd Dam. The other two took different routes.

Cwm Bychan>Rhinog Fawr: I went via the Roman steps but short cut at the wall whilst the other 2 took two more direct routes.

Rhinog Fawr>Rhinog Fach: Descent as per organiser's track I think but took more direct route on ascent but it was horrendous.

Rhinog Fach>Y Llethr: as per organiser's route

Y Llethr>Diffwys: Lower line than ridgeline

Diffwys to Llanelltyd: As organiser's track but made an error in the woods

SWOC Xmas Score Orienteering: Pontcanna

Great little event and very strategic. Had CPs with values 10, 20, 30 and 40. Once a 20 pointer was collected it wasn't possible to collect 10 pointers. Once a 30 pointer was collected it wasn't possible to collect 10 and 20 pointers etc.

I finished with 13mins to spare so should have collected more 10 and 20 pointers. I had collected all the 30 and 40 pointers.
