10 Peaks Brecon - Long Course

Last 5-6km missing from GPX log but time and distance above corrected
89km, 4800m climb. My time: 15hr 15min

Tough day out. I wasn't sure how I'd get on as I've not done a long run for a while and only done some slow short plods occasionally. I definitely lost some fitness since Dragons Back and SW100. I felt weaker on the ascents in particular and I felt a big slow down after the half way mark.

Montane h/wt waterproof coat - on for about 3hrs during heavy wind & rain

What did I learn? I need to get back to running and in particular develop my leg strength through doing squats/lunges again.

I finished 11th overall out of 85 starters and 70 finishers. The top 3 did it in 11hr 34mins! WOW.

Another day of feeling shite. Woke up at 4am last night with a throbbing jaw. So had to take ibuprofen and paracetomol to be able to sleep.

Saw the dentist who said I had a slightly infected gum due to the wisdom tooth breaking through. She gave me 3 options:

a). leave it as it is and hope it gets better
b). take antibiotics
c). take it out

I went for option a!

Worked from home as I felt shit all day. Wisdom tooth coming through + tonsilitis + cold. :-(
