Valley of Fire Backcountry Marathon
~64oz water, 5 gels
1st OA in a really small field. Just ran my long run pace and picked it up the 2nd half. No low points besides my usual rt thigh cramp, which didn't happen until .5mi from the finish. Awesome temps, fun vibes, cool to be able to see folks from the 50k and 1/2. Super psyched. Glad I didn't go off course. Redemption for the trail HM snafu in April.

Ended up being low mo/ low energy but good to move a little. Repeated a 6. Tried an 8 a little. Got super crowded. Last climbing day until after the race on Sat.

Slow and easy w/ B in Corner Cyn. Plan was 7-10 but legs were dead and brain was dumb, so I turned around before 2mi mark. Whoa. Paying for yesterday. Oh well.

Super lazy rest of the day. So psyched. Been waiting for a day like this for a long time.
