Warm up + strides. Didn't sleep great. Woke up a lot, but felt decent.

Ouray Mt. Trail Run 6th OA
Perfect weather. Amazing course, like the whole thing was cool. 1st mile on dirt rd in 6:34, just to get a sub 7min mile on dirt on my b-day. Had splits from last year's 5th place's 2:19 written down. Top 4, incl T Parr, blasted out of the start. Ran 7th for first ~3mi. After passing 6th, I never saw 5th again. Goal became keep it steady, don't get passed. Overall, I feel good about it. Legs held up on descents after big climbs. I felt decent on the tech descents but def have work to do. Super fun. Worth going back again.
Drank~10oz Tailwind, 4oz water, 1 gel. Top 4 all went under CR from last year. So fast. Inspiring.

Easy with 4x 20/40 in last mile. Decent legs and head. Nice, cool AM. Feel psyched and confident for tmw. Hip flexors a little stiff, but the strides helped.

Easy from O Smith. Warm and windy. Legs ok. Just sleepy this AM. Felt like laying down and going to sleep after. May stick to AM runs from home from now on. Whatev. Bust out work. 3 day weekend + race on tap.

Easy hood jog. Legs not great but decent jog. Neffs is on fire, flames visible during the run and on the drive to work. Sucks, but sounds like the heroes are getting it under control. Cool temps and breezy. Air was a little hazy but didn't smell like smoke bc of the breeze moving the air around so much.

Decent legs going up. Def tired on descent but ok again on P line. Amazing AM. So psyched to get up there early, first few miles by headlamp. 8oz water, 1 gel. The leaves are changing.
