Event: DVOA Batsto

Orienteering race 1:16:18 [4] 11.9 km (6:25 / km) +175m 5:58 / km
shoes: O-VJ Integrator Spikes

A reasonable run at Batsto - a bit annoying as I lost about 2 minutes on # 1 at which point Clem caught me, but after that we took turns in front (albeit with Clem ahead much more often in the 1st half) - not really following but it's so flat that routes are usually straight, and the visibility was good enough that it was hard to completely lose track of each other - although we did at times.

Running 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: R-NB 891's

Tag/jogging with the kids - some fast bits running away from Manesh (AJ's friend), and AJ kept running most of the time. 1st run w/o GPS in a while, so I've got to log this now (the GPS->AP backlog is about 2 weeks...)

Another early AM thing - slow sucking effort.... Breakfast with the VP of the department at 8am.

Running 20:34 [2] 3.42 km (6:01 / km) +18m 5:52 / km
ahr:126 max:137 shoes: R-NB 891's

Pre-dawn, post gatorade breakfast run from the hotel. Early AM runs suck. Keeping them short due to mild sore throat and work.

Running 1:22:23 [2] 13.95 km (5:54 / km) +507m 5:00 / km
ahr:135 max:148 shoes: R-NB 891's

Pre-dawn, post gatorade breakfast run at Rancho San Antonio. First 15 minutes sucked. I'm definitely not a first-thing-in-the-morning runner.

Eventually, as it got lighter, and time went by, I felt better - enjoyed getting to the top of the power poles and back down the canyon. Almost forgot I was running I was thinking about so much stuff at work - that wasn't so bad - got a lot of planning done, and a reasonable run in too. Not as long as I'd like, but the darkness to 1st meeting limit wasn't really great this morning.

Running (Paved, mostly) 23:31 [2] 4.21 km (5:35 / km) +8m 5:32 / km
shoes: R-NB 891's

Flew to CA, worked way past dark. Got out for a short run in the dark, then back to the office without even a shower until 11pm - made good progress on fixing a customer complaint by the end of the week out there. Pretty stressful, but exciting week of work. Glad it's done and hope it ramps back down although I imagine it won't ramp down much.
