Orienteering race 38:58 [4] 6.0 km (6:30 / km) +240m 5:25 / km
shoes: O-VJ-Grey-Spikes

Moving quite slowly with a 25% median split delta and no significant mistakes... Partly I was being wimpy in the wet terrian, esp. downhill, but I think my cold must have had something to do with it too. Or I'm in much worse shape that I would have hoped... given I did keep training this winter.

Running warm up/down 7:00 [2] 1.2 km (5:50 / km) +10m 5:36 / km
shoes: O-VJ-Grey-Spikes

Sorta-warmup, no cooldown.

Running warm up/down 7:00 [2] 1.0 km (7:00 / km) +10m 6:40 / km
shoes: O-VJ-Grey-Spikes

Not the best, but I had decided to take the races slow

Orienteering tempo 16:26 [4] *** 2.69 km (6:07 / km) +38m 5:42 / km
ahr:159 shoes: O-VJ-Grey-Spikes

1st 'Sprint' which was Sprint-Series only, not A-meet, so I took it relatively easy. Lungs still burned pretty good though, so it was clear I wasn't 100% recovered from last weekend's virus.

Orienteering tempo 15:00 [4] *** 2.5 km (6:00 / km) +40m 5:33 / km
shoes: O-VJ-Grey-Spikes

2nd Sprint - Similar to the 1st, although I pushed a bit less, and was even further back.

Running 42:27 [2] 6.5 km (6:32 / km) +220m 5:35 / km
ahr:137 max:152 shoes: R-NB Black

Up & over Joy & back. Time & Dist approx. Lungs not totally clear yet, but this weekend should be okay if things keep on this trend.

Running 31:00 intensity: (8:00 @1) + (23:00 @2) 5.1 km (6:05 / km) +121m 5:26 / km
ahr:125 max:145 shoes: R-NB Black

Tried to maintain almost a normal pace, for 30 minutes, incl. a bit of hill. Was forgetting to push on the downhills... Throat better than yesterday.

Running 20:47 [1] 2.5 km (8:19 / km) +5m 8:14 / km
ahr:95 max:125 shoes: R-NB Black

Some tag inside, then outside, with the kids. Throat not too bad, so a real run will be tried tomorrow.

Note
(sick)

After yesterday's beating, I let my body have a run free day to fight the virus. No fever today, but still suffering, so went to get a strep test, just in case. Negative.

Running 15:00 [1] 1.3 mi (11:32 / mi) +30m 10:46 / mi
shoes: R-NB Black

I shadowed AJ on White and I was proud to see a very clean run. Aside from still a 10-20 second pause at each control to read the map, he was running over 80% of the time, with only 3 pauses of about 5-10 seconds each, to confirm he was on the right track. 1.9k in 19:50. If we can get his stop & plan time down (which he's certainly learning), he'll be beating 10 minutes per k soon.

My personal running as shadow trashed my throat, and an attempt later in the day also was quite sore, ending in a total under the goal of 20 minutes.

I was then rewarded with a 103 fever, which 600mg IB brought down to a 102 fever... This virus wanted to be taken seriously.
