memorial. slow and easy. still painful, but now the achilles is the worst part. manageable, though. i think my shoes have something to do with it. the road flats i normally wear are totally blown out. when i wear the newer brooks, there's less pain and stress on the bunion and ankle. maybe it's time for new flats.

First run in about 6 weeks that wasn't at least an hour. bunion pain started last week on the right foot, likely just due to higher mileage and the fact that it's an f-ing bunion. then right side ankle pain started friday, likely from from a mild strain due to its compensating for painful foot-strike because of the the bunion. yesterday, ankle pain was a lot worse and the right calf started hurting, likely from compensating for my weak-ass girlie ankle.

today, it turned into what has to be a moderate calf strain. after about a mile of running with real calf pain, the achilles and hamstring started seizing up and threatening to go. i had to shut everything down and walk home.

rest today and tomorrow and test it on thursday. this is NOT the time for this shit.

(did first 4.5 miles in 34:17 for 7:37 pace)

home to memorial x2.5. felt much better than last week. only very minor pain. probably just needed a rest and time for everything to loosen up. spent about 24 hours on my feet over the weekend, though, and i still feel pretty tired.

lots of soreness and pain in lower back, hips, hamstrings, and quads... especially the lower back. almost unbearable. just didn't have it today. i'll rest up and start again monday, nothing else to do.

same route as monday, to memorial x2 & change. cool, windy and wet. but, i overdressed and got overheated. still a good run and i did one of the middle miles at tempo in 6:55. not too bad. i need to string 3 or 5 of those together eventually, though.
