Weights/Gym 1:00:00 [2]

Went with NB to the gym and did her circuit of weights. Finished up with 10 minutes of pretty good cardio on the stairs. First time I've lifted weights in many years and even though I went very light, I'm already starting to feel a little soreness.

Run 1:02:26 [2] 7.5 mi (8:19 / mi)

Sabine from home. temps a few degrees lower, an actual breeze, and a day off all made a difference. felt pretty decent. not great, but alright.

Note

Rest day. right interior ankle was tender to the touch and the right foot was swollen. had to take a day off. ice, rest, and ibuprofen.

Wednesday Aug 25, 2010 #

Run 1:00:00 [3] 8.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
shoes: Asics Hyper Speed 4 #2

KW - .52 mile loops. Progressive run with short rest between laps Managed 6 laps from 4:08 down to 3:20. Felt alright but my legs were kind of dead the entire time. Although I ran alright, I never felt that good. But got it done. Not too bad.

Run 1:07:38 [2] 8.0 mi (8:27 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Launch

memorial x2. Here's what i love about texas. when you finally get fit enough to run a reasonable distance in a reasonable time in the 100 degree heat, it's all for naught. see, because it's texas and every single day promises the arrival of serengeti-like death heat, there are no races... and by the time it IS cool enough to run fast, i.e. around the holidays, you're so full of food, beer, wine, stress, etc... that all your fitness is long gone. bloody f-ing texas.

on a side note, it's 98 degrees and rising. Weather Underground is reporting the heat index at 141 degrees. Now, I know that can't be correct, but damn if still doesn't scare me. on the bright side, i just finished running in this and it didn't kill me, so... not too bad.

Run 1:00:00 [2] 5.8 mi (10:21 / mi)
shoes: Asics Hyper Speed 4 #2

KW - miserable weather, torrential rain and lightening, ruined the workout. but, we still got out there and ran some miles when i might not have otherwise, so i'm pretty stoked about that. and, i still managed to get a couple of good miles thrown in there, too.
